Pittsburgh, PA, March 8, 2025: A 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student, Sudiksha Konanki, has been reported missing while on a spring break trip to the Dominican Republic. Konanki, a resident of Ashburn, Virginia, was last seen in the early hours of March 6, 2025, at 4:50 a.m. near the beach by the Riu Republica Resort, where she was staying with friends.
According to reports, Sudiksha went for a morning walk along the beach with a group of five people and has not been heard from since. Local authorities, including the police and navy, have launched an extensive search operation in the area. The Riu Hotels & Resorts chain has also mobilized efforts by communicating with employees across their Punta Cana properties to gather any information that could aid the investigation.
Sudiksha is 5’3″ tall with black hair and brown eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was last seen wearing a brown two-piece bikini, big round earrings, a metal designer anklet on her right leg, yellow and steel bracelets on her right hand, and a multicolored beaded bracelet on her left hand.
Family and friends have reached out to both the U.S. and Indian embassies in the Dominican Republic, seeking assistance in the search. They have also urged the public to come forward with any information that could help locate Sudiksha.
