New York, NY, March 7, 2025: After nearly two years of avoiding interviews, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has finally spoken about her absence from the media spotlight. In a recent conversation with Jay Shetty, Alia opened up about her struggles with mental health, revealing that she was diagnosed with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and anxiety.
Alia disclosed that she took a step back from interviews to focus on her well-being. “I was feeling overwhelmed, and I needed time to understand myself better,” she said. She described experiencing severe anxiety, with physical symptoms such as her body “heating up” during social gatherings, making it difficult for her to navigate public life.
The actress also revealed that she struggled with focus-related issues, which led her to seek professional help. Upon receiving an ADHD diagnosis, she felt a sense of relief as it helped her understand her long-standing challenges with attention and concentration. “There was a time when I felt lost, not being able to focus, and it affected both my personal and professional life,” she admitted.
In addition to ADHD and anxiety, Alia has spoken candidly about her struggles with body image. Despite her weight loss journey, she continued to deal with self-image concerns. However, she emphasized the importance of self-acceptance and learning to prioritize mental health.
Alia’s decision to stay away from interviews was part of a conscious effort to protect her mental space. “I wanted to take control of my narrative rather than feel pressured by expectations,” she explained.
Her candid revelations about mental health have sparked important conversations about seeking help and normalizing struggles with anxiety and ADHD.
