Rana Refiles JPMorgan Lawsuit, Adds Witness Testimony and Trauma Records

NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT

NEW YORK, May 5, 2026: Former JPMorgan banker Chirayu Rana, whose explosive allegations against a senior female colleague have drawn national attention, has refiled his lawsuit in New York, this time with sworn witness testimony, new factual claims, and medical documentation intended to strengthen his case against JPMorgan Chase and executive Lorna Hajdini.

The amended complaint, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court this week, revives Rana’s earlier allegations that Hajdini subjected him to sexual abuse, racial humiliation, workplace intimidation, and retaliation while the two worked in the bank’s leveraged finance division in New York. The earlier lawsuit, initially filed under the pseudonym “John Doe,” had been withdrawn last week by his attorneys, who cited procedural corrections.

The refiled complaint now includes witness affirmations from at least two individuals, according to court-related reports published Monday.

One witness, identified in media reports only as a family acquaintance, alleges that during an encounter in September 2024 at a Manhattan apartment, Hajdini appeared intoxicated and allegedly attempted to involve him in a sexual encounter involving Rana. The witness claims he refused and later became alarmed by Rana’s emotional and physical state.

A second witness, described as a family friend, reportedly claims he personally observed Hajdini kissing Rana and making what the lawsuit characterizes as racially charged and possessive remarks, including, “I own you, Brownie.” That alleged statement has become one of the most widely circulated details from the new filing.

Rana’s legal team has also reportedly included mental health records or therapist documentation indicating that Rana is undergoing treatment for trauma-related symptoms, including post-traumatic stress disorder, allegedly stemming from the incidents described in the complaint.

Rana, who previously worked as a vice president at JPMorgan before moving to investment firm Bregal Sagemount, first made headlines last week after filing his original complaint accusing Hajdini of drugging him, coercing him into sexual acts, using racial slurs, and threatening his compensation and career advancement if he did not comply.

JPMorgan has strongly denied the allegations.

“Following an investigation, we don’t believe there’s any merit to these claims,” a bank spokesperson previously said, according to published reports, adding that while multiple employees cooperated with the internal review, Rana allegedly declined to participate or provide evidence supporting his accusations.

The case has become increasingly controversial as separate media reports have also raised questions about Rana’s credibility. Over the weekend, reports surfaced alleging that Rana may have falsely informed an employer that his father had died in order to obtain bereavement leave in 2024. Those allegations are separate from the lawsuit and have not been adjudicated in court.

Neither Hajdini nor her attorneys have publicly commented on the new witness allegations as of Tuesday.

Rana, 35, is a graduate of Rutgers University and built a career in high finance, with previous roles at Morgan Stanley, The Carlyle Group, and Credit Suisse before joining JPMorgan.

The allegations in Rana’s lawsuit remain unproven, and the case is expected to face intense scrutiny as it moves through the New York court system.
