Atlanta, GA, Aug. 29, 2026: Atlanta-area technology entrepreneur and longtime community volunteer Vivek Srivastav is among a group of 10 pilgrims who remain missing after catastrophic flooding struck the Nepal-Tibet border region earlier this week.
Srivastav, a U.S. citizen, was traveling with a group on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra when contact was lost near the Rasuwagadhi-Gyirong border corridor on the morning of Aug. 26.
According to information circulated by the families, the group was last known to be at the Rasuwagadhi Immigration Office near the Nepal-China border at approximately 8:30 a.m. Nepal time. They have not been heard from since.
Srivastav is president of Enshure Technologies and works in the technology sector, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He is also known in Atlanta’s Indian-American community for his volunteer work with Sewa organizations and Sri Krishna Vrundavana (SKV) Temple.
“Vivek Srivastav has been a selfless volunteer, dedicated to serving the community through Sewa organizations and the SKV Temple,” a fellow Sewa and SKV Temple volunteer told NRI Pulse Friday.
“At this difficult time, let us all come together in prayer for his safety and well-being,” the volunteer said, adding a prayer that he be protected and brought safely home to his loved ones.
The missing group includes nine U.S. citizens — Anil Goel, Srinivas Sudhir Rangu, Sudhindra Yapalparvi, Laxminath Gopisetty, Venkataraman Balasubramanyam, Kirti Acharya, Venkat Bangalore, Kesava Rao Tadipatri and Vivek Srivastav — as well as Mahendra Gupta, a Canadian citizen.
A missing-person appeal circulated by families identifies the tour group as DG Sir Dot and says the group consisted of 10 members undertaking the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage through the Rasuwagadhi-Gyirong (Kerung) corridor.
Goel, another member of the group, is a recently retired World Bank professional who was making his third pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar. His wife told The Indian Express that she last spoke with him as he prepared to cross the Nepal-Tibet border on Aug. 26.
Families have appealed to authorities in Nepal and India for help locating the travelers and determining their whereabouts.
The group is among many foreign travelers who became unreachable following the devastating floods in Nepal’s Rasuwa district.
