Atlanta, GA: Atlanta’s Dr. Sivananda Nyayapathi won a 4th place award in the Portrait Society of America’s Members’ Only Annual Competition, 2014, among over 800 talented art works submitted from around the world.
Portrait Society of America reports that all these art works were varied in style and execution. There were five jurors and they based their selections on a specific set of criteria that included drawing skills, tonal values, design, treatment of edges, and color harmony along with all the mechanics of composition.
The final selections and the determined awards were additionally based on the artist’s imagination, emotion and ability to communicate their idea. This painting along with other top winning works will be featured in the International Artist Magazine and the Society’s quarterly The Art of the Portrait Journal.
Being selected in this esteemed international level competition is very tough and also very challenging by itself, and winning an award is highly prestigious, very honorable and rewarding.
