Bhoomi Pooja held for new Sri Shiva Durga Temple

Atlanta, GA, May 7, 2018: The Bhoomi Pooja (groundbreaking ceremony) for the new Sri Shiva Durga Temple was held in Cumming on April 21, 2018.

The ceremony began with an invocation to Sri Ganapathi, followed by Punyaha Vachana, Ganapathi Homa, and Vedic chanting.

The temple is founded by Shiva Sri Pandit Karthik Dixit, graduate of the Veda Agama Patashala, Bangalore and winner of multiple awards such as “Rashtriya Rathna” (conferred by the Honorable Governor of Haryana) and “Aagama Praveena” (awarded by the Department of Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments,Bangalore).

Building construction is due to begin shortly. Panchaloha idols are scheduled to arrive in the country end of June. Temple activities also will begin end of June and will be conducted in a trailer on the property until building construction is completed.

The temple committee has invited readers to visit theSriShivaDurgaTempleand participate in Pooja ceremonies and religious functions.
