Chicago, IL, December 22, 2025: The Sankara Nethralaya Chicago Chapter organized a Indian film music concert on December 13, 2025, in the Aurora area to raise community awareness about its eye care medical service initiatives for needy patients in rural and underprivileged regions of India.
The event featured talented artists from the Tollywood film industry, eminent local singers, and vibrant classical and movie dance performances, creating an engaging and joyful atmosphere for attendees. In addition to the cultural programs, educational talks by Chicago Trustees Pavan Naranreddy and Gowri Addanki highlighted the importance of routine eye examinations, advanced surgical treatments, and preventive eye care. The program also showcased Sankara Nethralaya’s transformative work across India, delivering life-altering eye care services to underserved communities.
The evening provided an opportunity to recognize the immense generosity and compassion of NRI community in the United States, reflecting their strong emotional connection to their country of birth and its communities. The Indian community turned out in large numbers in spite of severe cold weather, offering spirited participation and generous support, for which the Sankara Nethralaya Chicago Chapter is deeply grateful.
Distinguished attendees included President Bala Reddy Indurti, Treasurer Moorthy Rekapally, Milwaukee Trustee Chandra Mouli Saraswathi, and CVP Jagadeesh Badam from the Sankara Nethralaya USA leadership team, along with Board of Advisors member and Brand Ambassador Sri Prasad Reddy Katamreddy. The event was also honored by the presence of representatives from the Indian Consulate General’s office Mrs. Lima Mathew, Head of Chancery, Aurora City Council Member Swetha Baid, and several prominent local community members and Organizations leaders.
The chapter extends heartfelt appreciation to Chicago-based Indian music talent Praveen Kumar Jaligama, Mani Tellapragada, and Parimala Prasad for their performances. The evening concluded with a headline performance by renowned Movie artists Parthu, Mallikarjun, and Sumangali. Lively MCing by Pranathi and Hareesha added the right perspective to this special program. Chicago team CVP Dr. Hima Chebrolu and the Chapter Leads Srihari Jasti, Malathi Damaraju, Swetha Kottapplai, Radhia Veerapaneni, Radhika Garimella, Sivaramakrishna, Sailaja Sappa, Bindu, Naresh, Mohan Paruchuri, Ramaprasad, Ravindra made the event possible with kudos to their steadfast support in many activities behind the scenes, their work makes a positive impact!
The generous donations by local donors contributed to 3 mobile surgical units that would benefit at least 3-6 villages back home. Apart from these MESU sponsors, many donors have contributed and have come forward to volunteering for the organizations.
