Norcross, GA, February 10, 2025: The Sikh American Society of Georgia (SASGA) celebrated Lohri with great enthusiasm at Ashiana Banquet Hall on January 25, bringing together over 450 attendees for an evening filled with Punjabi culture, music, and dance.
The event, an annual tradition for SASGA, was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Solomon Caviness, Commissioner of the Department of Transportation, Atlanta; Sandy Donatucci, State Representative for District 105; and Jordan Griffin, Norcross City Police Chief. Their presence underscored the significance of cultural heritage and community unity.
Attendees enjoyed an authentic Punjabi feast, high-energy DJ music, and spirited dancing, making it a night to remember. The highlight of the evening was the captivating women’s Gidda and Bhangra performances, where vibrant traditional outfits and synchronized movements stole the show. The event’s female MCs and singers added to the colorful and festive atmosphere.
SASGA President Surinder Singh expressed his delight, calling it “one of the best Lohri celebrations” the organization has hosted. He emphasized the importance of such gatherings in preserving and promoting Indian traditions among the diaspora.
