Atlanta, GA, March 31, 2025: The US Junior League (USJL), a premier T20 cricket league for young cricketers in the USA, is set to expand significantly in 2025 Season 2, doubling the number of teams from six to twelve. Following a successful 2024 inaugural season, the league is opening new player registrations as it continues to create opportunities for cricketers aged 18-20.
To strengthen its structure and player development initiatives, the USJL has established an Advisory Board with key additions, including M.S.K. Prasad and Jatin Patel. Prasad, a former international cricketer and chief selector of the Indian National Cricket Team, has played significant roles in cricket talent scouting, including serving as Director – Talent Search and Academies for the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL. Patel, a Cricket Hall of Famer and recipient of both a Lifetime Achievement Award and the USA Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, is a multi-sport coach, mentor, administrator, and Professional Performance Analyst. He has contributed extensively to cricket development in the USA and globally.
With these experienced leaders on board, the USJL is set to elevate young players to the next level. Prithvi Raj Logan, Founder and President of USJL, emphasized the league’s commitment to youth cricket, stating, “With twelve teams in 2025, we expect increased participation and are launching vital initiatives to nurture future stars of cricket in the USA. Our Advisory Board will help take youth players to the next level, setting the USJL apart from any other junior cricket league in the country.”
The US Junior League is more than just a competition; it serves as a key developmental platform for young cricketers in the USA. With a nationwide reach, the league provides players across multiple states the opportunity to showcase their talent at an elevated level. The focus extends beyond competition, with an emphasis on skill and fitness development, preparing players for potential selection at the national and international levels. The league also acts as a stepping stone for top talents to move on to higher competitions such as Minor League Cricket (MiLC) and USA national age-group teams.
As part of its growth, the USJL has announced plans to introduce USA All-Star teams and high-performance training programs as part of its long-term player development strategy. The 2025 season will feature the following twelve teams:
- San Francisco Bay Area – Astros
- Baltimore – Blue Jays
- Denver – Dynamites
- North Carolina – Gladiators
- United – Knight Riders
- New York – Nightmares
- Northwest – Renegades
- Columbus – Royal Falcons
- Seattle – Seals
- Dallas – Thunders
- Raiders Unlimited
