Sri Raghavendra Swamy’s 342nd Aaradhana Celebrations Held in Smyrna

Smyrna, GA:  Vishwa Madhwa Sangha (VMS) – Atlanta chapter celebrated the 342nd aaradhana of Sri Raghavendra Swamy Theerta on Saturday, August 24, 2013. This event was hosted for the first time by the members of Vishwa Madhwa Sangha (VMS)–Atlanta Chapter, a non-profit organization at the IACA auditorium in Smyrna, GA.

Sri Raghavendra Swamy (commonly known as Sri. Raayaru) was a renowned Hindu saint and philosopher, worshipped by devotees in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu & Andhra Pradesh. The event started at 9:30 am with the chanting of Purusha Sookta, Sri Sookta, Naka Stuthi, Vayustuthi and Sri. Raghavendra Swamy Stotra. The aaradhane was very well celebrated by over 100 devotees who came from different parts of Atlanta and a few from Greenville, NC.

It also included cultural activities from kids and adults, who enthusiastically sang bhajans of Sri. Raghavendra Swamy, Krishna and Lord Ganesha, and also included a violin recital by a young kid. The celebrations concluded with aarathi & prasada. A great variety of authentic dishes from Karnataka were served to the devotees. Invited devotees generously contributed donations. It was also decided by the members of VMS group that donations received from the devotees would be sent to Neelavara Goshaale in Neelavara near Udupi, Karnataka, India. Neelavara Goshale is a home for cows setup by Pejavara Mutt to look after aged, homeless cows. All the members and invited devotees were happy to get the blessings of Sri Raayaru.
