Los Angeles, CA, March 11, 2025: Odisha has become the latest backdrop for an upcoming film featuring global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas. The Indian American actress, who has made a mark in Hollywood while maintaining strong ties to her Indian roots, is currently in Odisha shooting for her new film.
Chopra Jonas, known for her versatility in film and television, was spotted at various scenic locations in Odisha, as shared through her Instagram story. The shoot is reportedly for the much-anticipated Telugu-language action-adventure film tentatively titled SSMB29. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli, the movie also stars Mahesh Babu in a lead role.
The production of SSMB29 began earlier this year in Hyderabad, before moving to Odisha for its next schedule. Reports suggest that upcoming scenes may also be shot in Kenya, showcasing the film’s expansive, international scale.
In addition to SSMB29, Chopra Jonas recently completed filming The Bluff, a swashbuckler drama directed by Frank E. Flowers. Set in the 19th-century Caribbean, the movie sees Chopra Jonas in the role of a former pirate protecting her family from threats linked to her past. Principal photography for The Bluff took place in Australia and wrapped in early August 2024.
Chopra Jonas is also set to appear in Heads of State, an action film directed by Ilya Naishuller, alongside Hollywood stars John Cena and Idris Elba. That project filmed in multiple European locations throughout 2023 and 2024.
