Four members of Indian-American family found dead inside their home

NRI Pulse Staff Report

Atlanta, GA, June 16, 2019: Four members of an Indian-American family were found dead inside their home, apparently of gunshot wounds.

Chandrasekhar Sunkara 44, Lavanya Sunkara 41, and children aged 15 and 10 were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say other family members, two adults and two children, were staying as guests. One of the survivors ran outside looking for help. He found someone walking through the neighborhood and that person called 911.

The Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation is processing the scene as West Des Moines detectives continue their investigation, according to a press release issued by the police.

Real estate records show the home had been owned by Lavanya and Chandrasekhar Sunkara since March 25, reports Des Moines Register.

The house is in a well-kept suburban neighborhood.
