Indian American Dr. Mohammed Jameel wins seat in Long Grove Municipal election

Dr. Mohammed Jameel became the first Indian American Muslim to be elected to the Long Grove Village Board elections.

Speaking in Long Grove, Dr Jameel thanked voters and urged them to increase participation in civic activities and thereby build a stronger community with inclusive participation in all levels of Government.

Lake County Treasurer Holly Kim was the chief guest and congratulated Dr Jameel.

Dr Jameel is active in local politics and heads the American Democratic Forum. He has previously supported Nabeela Syed who became the first Indian American Muslim woman state representative in Illinois.

Dr Jameel is also very active in all spheres of engagement socially and politically in India as chairman of Indian Americans forum .

A native of Warangal, India, Dr Jameel graduated from Deccan Medical College before moving to the US.
