Atlanta, GA, January 16, 2022: Every year, Atlanta Magazine releases its 500 most powerful Atlantans list that includes CEOs of the largest companies, managing partners of big law firms, current presidents of professional organizations, heads of top nonprofits/educational institutions/arts groups, leaders of government or civic organizations, and executives serving on nonprofit boards. The recognition in the annual publication is a consorted effort of consultation with experts across different sectors and consideration of nominations from the public, in eight different categories: Business; Professionals; Real Estate; Government & Infrastructure; Arts, Sports & Entertainment; Education & Healthcare; Restaurants & Hospitality; and Religion, Nonprofits & Advocacy. Atlanta South Asian Community’s pride and joy, Padma Bhushan Dr. Jag Sheth, renowned scholar and internationally recognized thought leader made it to 2022 list. It may be noted that Dr. Sheth was listed in the 2021 list as well.

It reflects how the South Asian diaspora contributes to the local communities in Atlanta in all walks of life. Secondly, it also reflects how Atlanta as a global hub city welcomes people of diverse cultures from all over the world,” Dr. Sheth told NRI Pulse.
A Charles H. Kellstadt Professor of Business at the Goizueta Business School of Emory University, Dr. Sheth has published more than 300 research papers and more than 30 books on various disciplines and topics. His insights on global competition, strategic thinking, geopolitics, and emerging markets are considered revolutionary.
Dr. Sheth is also the recipient of India’s highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan, for distinguished service of high order conferred by the President of India at ceremonial functions which are held at Rashtrapati Bhawan usually around March/ April every year.
Prior to Emory University, Dr. Jagdish Sheth was the Robert E. Brooker Professor of Marketing at the University of Southern California and the Walter H. Stellner Distinguished Professor of Marketing at the University of Illinois. He was also on the faculty of Columbia University and MIT.
Dr. Sheth is an American Psychological Association Fellow and past President of the Association for Consumer Research (ACR). He is also a Fellow of the American Marketing Association and the Academy of Marketing Science. Among his past and present accolades, Dr. Sheth was the recipient of the Viktor Mataja Medal from the Austrian Research Society in Vienna (1977) and the 1989 Outstanding Marketing Educator Award from the Academy of Marketing Science. In 1991 and again in 1999, Dr. Sheth was also recognized as the “Marketing Educator of the Year” by Sales and Marketing Executives International (SMEI).
