NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT
Miami, FL, July 4, 2025: A 21-year-old man from New Jersey, Ishaan Sharma, was arrested after allegedly assaulting a fellow passenger aboard a Frontier Airlines flight from Philadelphia to Miami. The incident occurred mid-flight and was described by the victim as completely unprovoked.
According to Miami-Dade Police, Sharma faces a battery charge following the altercation with the passenger, Keanu Evans. Jail records show that Sharma’s bond was set at $500.
Evans told police that Sharma had been behaving erratically prior to the incident, making other passengers uncomfortable with unsettling behavior, including a “dark laugh” and what were described as bizarre verbal threats. According to Evans, Sharma approached him without warning, pressed his forehead against his, and then grabbed him by the neck.
Video clips recorded by fellow passengers show a tense struggle as flight attendants and other passengers intervened. Voices can be heard shouting, “Stop, let him go,” while crew members attempted to de-escalate the situation.
Both men sustained minor injuries in the brawl. Sharma reportedly received stitches, while Evans was left with superficial cuts. Evans maintains that he acted in self-defense and did not provoke the attack.
Frontier Airlines has not yet released a public statement regarding the incident. The flight landed safely in Miami, where law enforcement took Sharma into custody.
The case remains under investigation.
