R. Madhavan gets into spiritual mode on birthday

Mumbai, June 1 (IANS) His post-sabbatical gem “Tanu Weds Manu Returns” has hit the jackpot, and R. Madhavan is basking in all the appreciation that has come his way following the film. On his 45th birthday on Monday, he sought God’s blessings.

A grand success party amalgamated with the birthday celebration with family and close friends is also said to be in plans, said a source.

The Anand L. Rai directorial, which also stars Kangana Ranaut, Jimmy Sheirgill and Deepak Dobriyal, has already entered the Rs.100 crore club and is still going steady at the box-office. The film is about how a couple rediscovers love after parting ways.

“Birthday boy post the temple visit,” Madhavan tweeted on Monday, with a photograph in which he is beaming with joy.

Madhavan has crossed the boundaries of Bollywood and has regaled his fans with regional films as well. He is known for films like “Nala Damayanthi”, “Ramji Londonwaley”, “Rang De Basanti” and “3 Idiots”.

The micro-blogging site was abuzz with actors wishing Madhavan a “super duper year ahead”.

His co-star of “Jodi Breakers” Bipasha Basu wished him and congratulated him for the success of “Tanu Weds Manu Returns”.

“Happy birthday 2my nicest co star and the warmest guy in the world @ActorMadhavan! So happy 4 d success of #TWM 4 u,” Bipasha wrote.

Actors Abhishek Bachchan and Neil Nitin Mukesh also wished him well. While Abhishek wrote “Happy birthday Maddy. @ActorMadhavan have a super year my brother”, Neil posted: “@ActorMadhavan A very happy birthday bro. Loads of love luck success and happiness your way always. God bless you. Have a great year.”

Madhavan and Dia Mirza’s chemistry in “Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein” was lauded by one and all. And Dia also wished her co-star.

Divya Dutta also praised Madhavan for his performance in his latest film. She wrote: “@ActorMadhavan happy happy bday maddy!!!! Big hug!! Hava grt one!!! N congrats fr sucha endearing performance in twm!”.
