Atlanta, GA, July 22, 2026 — Kiran Reddy, an 18-year-old recent high school graduate from Coffee County in south Georgia, was crowned Miss Georgia Teen USA 2026 on June 30, becoming the latest Indian American to earn the title. She will represent Georgia at the Miss Teen USA 2026 competition on August 26 in Miami, Florida.
Coffee County, located about 200 miles south of Atlanta along the Florida border, is centered around the city of Douglas and is known for its agricultural heritage.
Reddy’s pageant victory caps a remarkable year of achievements. Just weeks before winning the crown, she graduated as valedictorian of the Coffee High School Class of 2026, where she also served as Student Council President.
She plans to attend the University of Georgia this fall, where she will study biological sciences on a pre-med track. Her long-term goal is to become an OB-GYN, inspired by years spent accompanying her physician father to his medical practice. She has said those early visits, where she watched him care for patients and even played with his stethoscope as a child, sparked her interest in medicine.
Reddy already volunteers at Coffee Regional Medical Center, working in the labor and delivery unit’s nursery. The experience strengthened her desire to pursue women’s health, and she hopes to one day return to Douglas to practice medicine while also providing prenatal care to underserved women overseas.
Her commitment to service extends well beyond the hospital. Reddy has volunteered by reading to elementary school students, hosting tea parties for residents at a local senior living center, mentoring young gymnasts, and organizing a charity pageant that raised $3,000 for Alzheimer’s awareness.
Before finding success in pageantry, Reddy competed in varsity swimming and was a competitive gymnast. She has said pageants helped her overcome a fear of public speaking and develop the confidence to become a leader in her school and community.
Her journey to the state title was marked by perseverance. After beginning to compete at age 15, she earned the Miss Georgia South Teen title and finished as first runner-up and second runner-up in previous Miss Georgia Teen USA competitions before finally capturing the crown this year.
Reddy’s victory follows another milestone for the Indian American community in Georgia pageantry. SriRathna Kancherla became the first Indian American to be crowned Miss Georgia Teen USA in 1994, breaking barriers for South Asian representation in the competition. Reddy’s selection continues that growing legacy and reflects the increasing visibility of Indian American contestants on the state pageant stage.
This year’s selection process also differed from previous years. Georgia was among 16 states that moved away from traditional preliminary pageants after organizational changes at the national level. Instead, contestants were selected through an open casting call system before competing for the state title.
Reddy has said she hopes her historic victory will encourage more Indian American girls to enter pageantry and pursue opportunities outside their comfort zones.
She will now represent Georgia at Miss Teen USA 2026 on August 26 in Miami, competing against titleholders from across the country.
