NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT
Grapevine, TX, April 15, 2025: Piyush Mallick, a junior at Grapevine High School, has achieved perfect scores on both the SAT and ACT—an achievement accomplished by only a tiny fraction of students across the nation.
Mallick earned a perfect 36 on the ACT on his first attempt in October 2024. Not content with his initial 1590 score on the SAT, he sat for the exam again in March 2025 and secured a perfect 1600. His exceptional performance places him among the top high school scholars in the country.
But Mallick’s talents don’t stop at standardized testing. He was recently crowned the 2024 Texas UIL Class 5A State Champion in both Mathematics and Number Sense. At the District 6-5A UIL Academic Meet, he also claimed first place in Calculator Applications, Mathematics, and Number Sense, and placed third in Computer Science.
Mallick credits his success to the rigorous coursework offered at Grapevine-Colleyville ISD and the unwavering support of his teachers. “The school’s curriculum has really challenged me and helped me grow,” he said in an interview. “I’m grateful to my teachers for encouraging me to aim high.”
Looking ahead, Mallick hopes to pursue computer science at one of the country’s top universities—Stanford, MIT, or the University of Texas at Austin. He is particularly interested in artificial intelligence and its applications in medicine and medical imaging.
