Johns Creek, GA, July 31, 2026 — A Forsyth County woman says a drive through the Johns Creek-Alpharetta area turned into a terrifying ordeal when a road rage encounter escalated into an alleged racially motivated chase, leaving her and her 12-year-old daughter fearing for their safety.
Speaking to NRI Pulse, the woman, who requested anonymity, said the incident occurred around 4:30 to 5 p.m. as she was driving on State Bridge Road toward the Wood Bridge Apartments area. She said the confrontation began when she allowed a white Nissan Sentra to merge into the right-turn lane after the driver activated his turn signal.
“I just gave him space. It was common courtesy,” she said. Moments later, however, she said the driver rolled down his window and made a hand gesture suggesting he had a gun, even though she had done nothing to provoke him.
Attempting to avoid any confrontation, the woman changed lanes to put distance between herself and the other vehicle. Instead, she said the driver repeatedly maneuvered his car to get in front of her, at one point crossing painted lane markings in an apparent attempt to cut her off.
When traffic came to a stop at a red light near Old Milton Parkway, she said the man got out of his vehicle and began yelling.
“He started screaming, ‘Go back to India. This is not your place,’ along with repeated slurs,” she recalled. “Everyone around was watching, but I couldn’t go anywhere because I was boxed in by traffic.”
The woman said she avoided responding, hoping the confrontation would end once the light changed.
Instead, she alleges the driver continued following her through multiple intersections.
Realizing she was being pursued, she said she drove toward her subdivision. Afraid the man would learn where she was headed, she chose not to enter the neighborhood and instead drove on to the Wood Bridge Apartment area and called 911.
“My daughter was with me, and we were both scared,” she said. “I didn’t want him to know where I lived or where I was going.”
She said the driver continued tailing her vehicle inside the Wood Bridge Apartments area, making it difficult for her to safely turn around. Only after she rolled down her window while speaking to the 911 operator did the man reportedly drive away.
The woman was able to take some photos of the car, although she could not get its license plate. She remembers only that the plate began with the letter “C.” She described the man as a thin, clean-shaven white male in his 40s or 50s driving a white Nissan Sentra.
She said she informed the responding officer that traffic cameras were installed at the Old Milton Parkway intersection and urged police to review the footage. Although an officer later called her by phone, no officer came to the scene, and no formal police report was filed because the suspect had already left.
“They told me they would try to do something, but there wasn’t much they could do,” she said. “I waited there for about 45 minutes, but no officer arrived.”
The woman, who has lived in metro Atlanta for 12 years and works at a law firm, said she considers herself a cautious driver and routinely helps other women to become confident behind the wheel.
“I don’t get into arguments on the road,” she said. “If someone like me can be this scared, I can’t imagine how someone else would feel.”
She has since begun contacting nearby businesses in hopes of obtaining private surveillance footage that could help identify the driver.
