Reliance Snaps Up Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ Anomaly in Major Beauty Deal

Los Angeles, CA, May 1, 2026: Priyanka Chopra Jonas has scored a major business milestone, with her global haircare brand Anomaly being acquired by Reliance Retail, marking a significant expansion of the Indian retail giant’s fast-growing beauty portfolio.

The acquisition, announced on April 30, strengthens Reliance Retail’s push into the premium beauty and personal care market, an increasingly competitive segment in India and globally. While financial details of the deal were not disclosed, business reports said Reliance has acquired Anomaly’s trademarks, brand assets, and digital properties.

Launched in 2021 by Chopra Jonas in partnership with beauty incubator Maesa, Anomaly quickly gained traction in the United States for its affordable, eco-conscious haircare products, with placement in major retail chains such as Target and Walmart. The brand’s shampoos, conditioners, hair masks, and styling products were marketed as vegan, cruelty-free, and sustainably packaged.

Despite the acquisition, Chopra Jonas is not stepping away from the brand. Reports indicate she will continue to be involved in the company’s future as Creative Director, helping shape product development and brand strategy.

For Reliance Retail, led by the Ambani family, the deal fits into a broader strategy to build a global beauty ecosystem through its beauty platform Tira, which has been aggressively expanding its portfolio of international and celebrity-backed brands.

Industry observers say the acquisition could help Anomaly deepen its footprint in India while leveraging Reliance’s vast distribution network to reach a wider consumer base across Asia and other emerging markets.

For Chopra Jonas, who has successfully built a career spanning Bollywood, Hollywood, and entrepreneurship, the deal underscores her growing influence beyond entertainment—particularly as one of the few Indian-origin global celebrities to launch and scale a consumer brand in the U.S. before bringing it back into the Indian market.
