Berkeley, CA, February 14, 2026: Authorities in California are searching for Saketh Sreenivasaiah, a 22-year-old Indian-origin graduate student at the University of California, Berkeley, who has been reported missing and classified as an “at-risk” individual by local police.
Sreenivasaiah, a recent graduate of IIT Madras (Class of 2025), was last seen on Tuesday, Feb. 10, in Berkeley, according to the Berkeley Police Department. Reports indicate he may have last been in the area near Dwight Way or close to Lake Anza in the Berkeley Hills, where search efforts have been concentrated.
Police have described him as approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing about 160 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. Officials have urged anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately.
The case has drawn international attention, with Indian diplomatic officials confirming their involvement. The Consulate General of India in San Francisco said in a public statement that it is “deeply concerned” about the student’s disappearance. The consulate said it is in touch with Sreenivasaiah’s family and is coordinating with local authorities as the search continues.
Search operations remain ongoing, particularly in areas where he was reportedly last seen.
