Infosys techie missing in terror-hit Brussels

Bengaluru, March 23 (IANS) An Indian employee of global software major Infosys Ltd, identified as Raghavendra Ganeshan,  is missing in the aftermath of Tuesday’s terror attacks in Brussels, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted on Wednesday evening.

The tweet also said that she has spoken to  Ganeshan’s mother, Anapoorni Ganeshan, and assured her of all efforts to locate her son.

“We are trying to reach one employee with whom we have not been able to connect as with all other employees,” the city-based IT outsourcing firm had earlier said in a statement, without specifying how many of its techies, including Indians, work in Brussels.

“We reached out to all our employees in the city to ascertain their whereabouts and safety following the (terror) attacks in Brussels,” the statement added.

At least 35 people were killed and over 200 injured in triple explosions at Brussels airport and a metro station on Tuesday. The blasts are suspected to have been triggered by the Islamic State (IS) terror group.
