9-year-old singing sensation Pranysqa Mishra wows America’s Got Talent judges

NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT

Nine-year-old Pranysqa Mishra stunned Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel, the four judges of America’s Got Talent, with her rendition of Ike and Tina Turner’s 1966 hit “River Deep — Mountain High” during her audition last week.

In a prerecorded interview, the Tampa, Florida native shared her excitement: “I feel like, literally, I’m dreaming because my big dream is singing in front of so many people and I’m on that big stage. Now it’s coming true.”

Klum, amazed by Mishra’s powerful voice, immediately hit the Golden Buzzer. “Oh my gosh, I did not expect that,” Klum exclaimed. “We expect a lot of things, but I did not expect that.”

“I want you to call your grandmother and tell her that Heidi Klum pushed the golden buzzer,” she added.

Mishra, who appeared on stage like “an angel,” as Cowell noted, wore a ruffled dress and bow. Despite initial nerves, she delivered a performance with the ferocity and sassiness of a rock star, leaving the audience and judges in awe.

Mishra has been singing since the age of 2. Born in New Jersey, she moved to Toronto, Canada, and later settled in Florida with her family. Her talent was evident from a young age. At 4, she wowed her parents with her rendition of “How Far I’ll Go” from the Disney film Moana, leading to her participation in various singing competitions and community events.

By the summer of 2020, Mishra impressed judges on the Tailgate Talent Show in Toronto as the youngest contestant to sing, write songs, and play piano. Her first public performance came at the age of 5, singing “Into the Unknown” from Frozen II before a crowd of hundreds.

By age 5, she was performing the National Anthem at major sporting events, including MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS, and NCAA games. She has sung for teams like the Boston Red Sox, LA Lakers, Florida Panthers, Miami Heat, and Miami Marlins. In 2023, she performed the National Anthem for Team USA during the Billie Jean King Tennis World Cup in Delray Beach, Miami.

In March 2024, she sang for the Miami Heat vs. Utah Jazz NBA game, and in May 2024, she performed “God Bless America” during Memorial Day celebrations.
