NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT

ST. Louis, MO, October 5, 2026: A 31-year-old Telangana woman was killed in a road accident in Missouri over the weekend, leaving behind her husband and 2½-year-old son.

Daram Supriya, a native of Maripeda in Mahabubabad district, died after the car she was traveling in was involved in a collision with a truck late Saturday, October 3, according to her family and multiple reports from India. Another Indian woman traveling with her was seriously injured and taken to a hospital.

A GoFundMe set up for Supriya’s family identifies the location of the crash as Wentzville, Missouri, in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

According to reports, Supriya and her friend were returning home after finishing work at a restaurant in the St. Louis area when the collision occurred. Family members have said their vehicle was struck from behind by a truck. Supriya died at the scene. Her friend, reported to be from Kodad in Telangana’s Suryapet district, suffered serious injuries.

Details of the collision have not yet been independently confirmed by local law enforcement. Information about the truck driver and the precise circumstances surrounding the crash was not immediately available.

Supriya lived in Missouri with her husband, Kodumuri Ranjith, who works in the software sector, and their young son. The couple had been married for about five years.

Her father, Daram Srinivas, has appealed to the Telangana government for assistance in bringing his daughter’s remains to India for the last rites.

“We are in shock after learning about the incident, and there are no words to speak,” Srinivas told the media. “We request the Telangana State Government to help bring back my daughter’s body for the last rites.”

A fundraiser launched following Supriya’s death is seeking financial support for her son’s education, health care and everyday needs as he grows up without his mother.

“On October 3, 2026, a devastating crash in Wentzville, Missouri, took Supriya’s life, leaving behind her beloved 2½-year-old child and a family struggling to comprehend a future without her,” the fundraiser says.

The appeal describes the loss through the milestones Supriya will not be able to share with her child, including birthdays, the first day of school and other moments of childhood.

“At just 2½ years old, her child is too young to understand the enormity of this loss,” the organizers wrote. “As the years pass, Supriya’s family will help her child know how deeply they were loved and keep their mother’s memory close.”

Organizers said all money raised will go toward the child’s education, health care and other essential needs.

“No contribution can bring Supriya back or replace the comfort of her embrace,” the appeal says. “But every act of kindness can help her child feel supported and cared for in the years ahead.”

Supriya’s death has also prompted appeals from relatives and others seeking assistance with the repatriation of her remains to India.

Further information from Missouri authorities about the crash was awaited.
