Atlanta, GA, August 4, 2026: USA international cricketer Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy, who previously played for Atlanta Fire in Minor League Cricket, has been suspended from all forms of cricket for eight years after an International Cricket Council (ICC) Anti-Corruption Tribunal found him guilty of attempting to fix matches during the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10 League.
The ICC announced that Reddy, 26, committed three breaches of its Anti-Corruption Code while playing for the Aspin Stallions in the UAE-based tournament. The league’s anti-corruption program was administered by the ICC on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board.
According to the tribunal’s findings, Reddy attempted to improperly influence the outcome, progress, conduct or another aspect of matches and sought to persuade another player to engage in corrupt activity. The ICC said the approach to the other player was unsuccessful.
The tribunal also found that Reddy deliberately obstructed the ICC’s investigation by deleting messages and other data from his mobile phone after the inquiry began.
The eight-year ban is backdated to November 21, 2025, the date on which Reddy was provisionally suspended. He is therefore ineligible to participate in any cricket governed by the ICC or its member boards until late 2033, unless the sanction is reduced on appeal.
Reddy made his Twenty20 International debut for the United States in April 2025 against the Cayman Islands and has represented the U.S. in four T20 Internationals. US-born and raised in Hyderabad before moving back to the United States, he had been regarded as one of the emerging players in U.S. cricket.
The ICC has not alleged that any match was successfully fixed. Instead, the tribunal’s ruling centered on Reddy’s attempts to influence matches, his effort to recruit another player into corrupt activity, and his obstruction of the subsequent investigation.
The case marks one of the most severe corruption sanctions imposed on a U.S. international cricketer and comes at a time when cricket is experiencing rapid growth in the United States through Major League Cricket and increasing international participation.
In announcing the sanction, the ICC reiterated its commitment to protecting the integrity of the sport and said corruption in any form would be met with strong disciplinary action.
