Interfaith wedding unites ‘Indian Matchmaking’ stars

Miami, FL, March 11, 2025: Arti Lalwani and Jamal Ahmed, who gained popularity from Netflix’s “Indian Matchmaking,” recently tied the knot in a lavish four-day wedding in Cancun, Mexico. The celebration blended their Hindu and Muslim backgrounds, showcasing a beautiful union of cultures.

According to People, the festivities included a Haldi ceremony, a lively Sangeet, and a yacht trip to conclude the event. The couple ensured their wedding honored both their traditions while creating memorable experiences for their loved ones. Lalwani and Ahmed’s families, meeting for the first time at the wedding, bonded over a diverse menu that featured a mix of Indian and Italian cuisine.

The couple faced some criticism for their interfaith relationship but remained committed to celebrating their love authentically. Lalwani also wore a custom veil that paid tribute to her late father, adding a heartfelt touch to the occasion.

Lalwani and Ahmed, who became engaged on September 12, 2022, expressed excitement about their future. As reported by People, they are looking forward to traveling, adopting a puppy, and starting a family.
