Atlanta, GA, December 4, 2024: Peachtree Ridge High School came alive with music and generosity on Sunday, November 17th as the “Harmonies of Hope” concert raised an impressive $30,000 for Leap to Shine, a nonprofit organization supporting underserved children through digital education, mentorship, and skill-building programs.
The sold-out event drew 450 attendees and celebrated the timeless melodies of legendary Indian composer R.D. Burman, with the local band Octaves headlining the evening. Known for their dynamic and soulful performances, the group enthralled the audience with Burman’s evergreen hits from the 70s and 80s. The band members—Navin Gurnaney, Asmita Joshi, Amol Khanapurkar, Gurinder Negi, Anupama Krishnan, Janani Ragunathan, Sriganesh Sangodkar, Jayur, Radhika Sundararaghavan, Anjaneya Sastry, Sai, Ram Singh, Krishnan, and Ravi—showcased their talent and passion for music, creating an electric atmosphere.
Navin Gurnaney, who also served as the emcee, kept the evening flowing seamlessly with his wit and charm.
The event, a vibrant blend of entertainment and philanthropy, demonstrated the power of music to unite communities and support meaningful causes. Leap to Shine founder Durgesh Das expressed gratitude for the community’s overwhelming response.
“Thank you to our incredible community of supporters! To our donors, sponsors, and volunteers—you made this achievement possible. A special thanks to the Octaves Group for their unwavering partnership and generosity. Your collective efforts have ensured brighter futures for 100 underserved children,” Das said in a statement.
The $30,000 raised will directly benefit programs aimed at empowering children through educational resources and programs, embodying Leap to Shine’s mission of creating opportunities for those in need.
