Forsyth County Cricketer Makes History for Team USA

NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT

Cumming, GA, May 10, 2026: A teenager from Forsyth County has earned international recognition after making history for USA Cricket.

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners honored Nitish Sudini during its May 7 regular meeting, recognizing his accomplishments as a member of the USA Cricket Under-19 National Team during the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

According to a statement released by Forsyth County, Sudini achieved a major milestone during the tournament by scoring a century—100 or more runs in a single innings—becoming the first player in the history of USA Cricket across all national teams, including men’s, women’s, and youth programs, to score a century in an ICC tournament.

County officials congratulated Sudini for what they described as a historic achievement in international cricket and thanked him for bringing pride to the Forsyth County community. The recognition comes after Sudini’s standout unbeaten 117-run innings during the World Cup, an achievement that also drew attention in cricket circles internationally.

Born in Atlanta and raised in Forsyth County, Sudini is part of a growing generation of American cricketers helping elevate the sport’s profile in the United States. His achievement is particularly notable as cricket continues to gain traction across the country, including in metro Atlanta, home to a rapidly expanding South Asian and cricket-loving community.

Sudini’s recognition by county leaders marks a rare moment for youth cricket in Georgia—and a milestone not just for Forsyth County, but for American cricket as a whole.
