Atlanta student dies after accidentally shooting himself on birthday

Atlanta, GA, November 23, 2024: Aryan Reddy, a 23-year-old Indian student from Telangana tragically lost his life in Atlanta on November 13 due to an accidental gun misfire on his birthday, according to media reports. Reddy, a native of Uppal in Telangana, was pursuing a Master’s degree at Georgia State University and had reportedly obtained a hunting gun license while in the US.

The incident occurred as Reddy was handling the firearm during his birthday celebrations. According to reports, the gun misfired, resulting in fatal injuries.

His father, Sudarshan Reddy, spoke to the media, expressing profound sorrow over the loss of his son. “We were unaware that students could acquire hunting gun licenses there. No parent should ever face such a tragedy,” he said.
