NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT

Six-day cricket tournament in Rydal will feature international stars, U.S. national team players and a new competition for women.

Atlanta, GA, October 9, 2026: The Atlanta Open T20 Tournament returns to Georgia October 13–18, 2026, bringing six days of competitive cricket, international stars and, for the first time, a women’s tournament.

The event will take place at Param Veers Sports Complex in Rydal, Georgia, with 12 men’s teams competing for a $100,000 championship prize. The runner-up will receive $20,000, with additional awards to be presented during the tournament.

The competition is expected to draw players and teams from across the United States and the international cricket community.

Among the prominent names announced for this year’s tournament is Bangladesh cricket star Shakib Al Hasan, widely regarded as one of the leading all-rounders of his generation.

Several well-known U.S. national team players are also expected to participate, including USA captain Monank Patel, Steven Taylor, Ali Khan, Harmeet Singh and Milind Kumar.

The tournament will bring together established international cricketers, experienced professionals and emerging players, giving cricket fans in Georgia an opportunity to watch high-level T20 competition closer to home.

A major addition this year is the inaugural Women’s Atlanta Open T20 Tournament. Organizers say the new division marks an important step in expanding the event and providing more competitive opportunities for women cricketers in the United States.

The introduction of the women’s tournament comes as cricket continues to attract growing interest across the country, particularly among South Asian communities, where the sport has long been a major part of cultural and social life.

For metro Atlanta’s large cricket-loving community, the Atlanta Open offers an opportunity to see familiar international names and U.S. national team players compete on Georgia soil.

The 2026 Atlanta Open T20 Tournament will be held October 13–18 at Param Veers Sports Complex in Rydal, northwest of metro Atlanta.
