Atlanta, GA, June 3, 2026 — The Hindus of Georgia Political Action Committee (HiPAC) has endorsed Georgia Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones in the June 16 Republican runoff election for governor, praising his support for religious liberty, economic development, and the state’s Hindu American community.
In a video message released following a recent HiPAC event, Jones thanked the organization for its support and highlighted the contributions of Hindu Americans to Georgia’s economy and culture.
“I’ve had a great partnership and relationship with them because they share a lot of the same values, as far as hard work and family-oriented values, as well as believing in religious freedoms,” Jones said.
The lieutenant governor noted that Hindu Americans, while representing about one percent of Georgia’s population, contribute significantly to the state’s economy through industries including healthcare, retail, hospitality, and information technology.
“Hindu Americans … create literally hundreds of millions of dollars toward our Georgia economy,” Jones said. “We want to keep that relationship strong, and I greatly appreciate the support and the continued support.”
Jones also encouraged voters to participate in the June 16 runoff election, noting that early voting begins June 8.
In announcing its endorsement, HiPAC described Jones as “a true friend to Georgia’s Hindu community” and praised his record on religious freedom, economic opportunity, and combating discrimination and hate.
“We appreciate his dedication to protecting our religious liberty, creating economic opportunities, and standing firmly against discrimination and hate,” the organization said in a statement accompanying the endorsement.
HiPAC also highlighted several policy priorities associated with Jones’s gubernatorial campaign, including eliminating Georgia’s state income tax, strengthening public safety, supporting law enforcement, expanding economic growth and job creation, and increasing educational opportunities for Georgia families.
“We are extremely happy to endorse him for the Governor of Georgia,” the organization said, urging supporters to vote in the June 16 runoff.
The endorsement adds to Jones’s outreach efforts among Georgia’s growing Hindu American and Indian American communities, which have become an increasingly visible force in the state’s business, professional, and civic sectors.
The Republican gubernatorial runoff election will be held on June 16, with early voting beginning June 8.
