Emails Show Deepak Chopra Stayed in Touch With Jeffrey Epstein Years After Conviction

BY VEENA RAO

In early 2026, the U.S. Justice Department and the House Oversight Committee released more than three million pages of records related to Jeffrey Epstein. Among them were emails showing repeated communication between spiritual author and wellness figure Deepak Chopra and Epstein, a convicted sex offender.

The records show that Chopra and Epstein exchanged several emails and text messages between at least 2016 and 2018, long after Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to sex-related crimes.

Friendly and Casual Emails

The emails include news articles, political opinions, media links, and plans to meet. The tone of the messages is often casual and friendly. In at least one email, Chopra signed off with the word “Love.”

In another text exchange on July 15, 2018, Chopra mentioned that his family is visiting for most of the summer and suggested a meeting. He noted that his 49-year-old son-in-law is a venture capitalist whose fund received a $100 million investment from Mike Milken and his son, suggesting they might enjoy connecting, although there could be no talk of girls. He mentions traveling to Atlanta later in the week.

” My family is here almost all summer Just FYI 2018/07/15 My son in law 49 years old is a venture capitalist Mike Milken and son put on 100 million $ into his fund You might enjoy meeting him ( can’t talk about girls ) Maybe we can visit tomorrow?

A separate sentence attributed to Chopra — “God is a construct, cute girls are real” — spread widely on social media after the files were released. NRI Pulse could not confirm the veracity of this sentence.

In one text exchange, Epstein told Chopra that he had requested a woman’s details after meeting her briefly on the street weeks earlier, prompting Chopra to reply, “Amazing! How did you pick her up?” Epstein then adopted a quasi-spiritual tone, writing, “Listen my son and the wisdom of sages will reflect your reality,” to which Chopra responded, “Aha! I have much to learn.” Chopra went on to describe the woman as being more connected to “reality” than “brilliant scientists,” adding that he felt connected to her “at the level of awareness.” Epstein’s response? “I liked watching you zero in on your prey. Made me smile.”

Reference to a Dropped Lawsuit

In one November 2016 email, Epstein sent Chopra an article saying that a woman had dropped a sexual assault lawsuit against him. Chopra replied by asking whether the civil case had also been dropped. After Epstein confirmed that it had, Chopra responded, “Good,” and the two then discussed meeting in person.

Conversations About Donald Trump

The emails also show discussions about Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign. In one exchange, Chopra asked Epstein if he knew Marla Maples, Trump’s former wife. Epstein replied that he had known her years earlier and claimed he once lost a $10,000 bet to Trump about her pregnancy, paying it off by sending “a truck of baby food.”

Chopra also shared links to his own opinion pieces analyzing Trump’s behavior and leadership style.

DOJ Email From December 2016

One December 2016 email released by the Justice Department shows Chopra describing a woman who had visited him in California and whom he had “invited again in future,” characterizing her as “innocent and smart at the same time.”

The email does not identify the woman and does not accuse anyone of wrongdoing. It does, however, show the personal nature of Chopra’s correspondence with Epstein.

Chopra’s Response

After the documents became public, Chopra said he supports efforts to uncover the full truth through official investigations. He said he is willing to cooperate with authorities if asked, but warned against jumping to conclusions based on incomplete information.

Legal experts have stressed that appearing in the Epstein files does not, by itself, mean someone was involved in Epstein’s crimes.
