If you’re ever in the mood for delicious, authentic North Indian cuisine in the Metro Atlanta area without a South Indian influence, I would highly recommend Bombay Flames.
The food has been consistently amazing, and the restaurant itself stands out among Indian restaurants in the area. The décor is modern, warm, and beautifully done, with plenty of seating options both indoors and outdoors, making it a comfortable spot for family dinners or casual outings.
As soon as you’re seated, you are served complimentary papad with a sweet sauce and a green chutney that has just the right amount of spice—a thoughtful way to begin the dining experience.

We started with the CVCT (Crispy Vegetable Corn Triangles) and the Tandoori Mix Grill, which arrived on a sizzling hot plate. Both appetizers were delicious and set the tone for the meal. The mix grill, in particular, was a hit with its variety and presentation. A bottle of Taj Mahal beer pairs perfectly with these starters.

For the main course, we ordered Malai Kofta, Butter Chicken, Rogan Josh, and Butter Naan. The Rogan Josh deserves a special mention—it was outstanding, probably the best we’ve had in years, even compared to what we’ve enjoyed during trips to India. The Butter Chicken and Malai Kofta were rich and flavorful, while the naan was freshly made in a tandoor, unlike the frozen versions served at some other Indian restaurants. Our kids especially enjoyed the mildly spiced yet flavorful Butter Chicken, sizzling Tandoori grill, and the naan.

Each entrée is priced between $16 and $22, and the portion sizes are generous, making the meals feel like excellent value for the quality you receive. Another plus is the spice customization—you can choose mild, medium, or hot depending on your preference. Our family tends to lean more towards the mild spice.

Bombay Flames is owned and operated by Chef Sandeep Singh, who brings years of experience and authenticity to the menu. He began his career with the Taj Group of Hotels in India, later honed his craft with Carnival Cruise Lines, and has now brought his culinary expertise to Atlanta. His training and passion clearly shine through in the quality, consistency, and presentation of the dishes.

Overall, Bombay Flames is a hidden gem in Alpharetta/Johns Creek. With its delicious food, inviting ambiance, chef-driven authenticity, and family-friendly atmosphere, it’s definitely a place we’ll be returning to often. Highly recommend!
