Senator Jon Ossoff Condemns Kashmir Terror Attack

NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT

Atlanta, GA, April 29, 2025: U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Kashmir that left 26 people dead, including 25 tourists and a local resident. The incident occurred on April 22 in the Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam, Kashmir.

“I grieve alongside Georgia’s Indian-American community and condemn in the strongest terms this cowardly act of terrorism,” Senator Ossoff said in a statement issued following the attack. “I send my deepest condolences to the families and communities who have had their lives upended by this violence.”

Among the victims were 24 Indian nationals from various states, one tourist from Nepal, and a local pony operator.

Indian authorities have confirmed that the massacre was carried out by three terrorists—two Pakistan nationals and one local recruit—believed to be affiliated with The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of the banned Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba. The two Pakistani militants reportedly infiltrated Jammu and Kashmir about 18 months ago, entering through the Samba-Kathua region by cutting through the border fence.

Georgia’s Indian-American community—one of the fastest-growing in the country—has expressed sorrow and concern over the attack. Several local associations held rallies and vigils for the victims over the past weekend.
