Mumbai, Nov 26, 2024: (Staff & IANS): The upcoming wedding of actors Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala has garnered widespread attention, with Netflix reportedly acquiring exclusive rights to the ceremony for ₹50 crore. The news, shared by film industry tracker Manobala Vijayabalan, highlights the growing trend of streaming platforms tapping into high-profile personal events.
The wedding, scheduled for December 4, will follow traditional Telugu Brahmin rituals spanning over eight hours. According to sources close to the couple, the event will be a meticulously planned, culturally rich affair, attended by close family and friends.
Sobhita has reportedly chosen a Kanjivaram silk saree adorned with real gold zari for the occasion and a white khadi saree from Ponduru, Andhra Pradesh, is also being prepared for her.
A viral photo of their wedding invitation has also drawn attention. The invite, accompanied by a curated goodies basket, features cultural symbols such as temples, bells, banana trees, and a cow. The basket includes items like a piece of cloth, a wooden scroll, food packets, and confectionery, adding a personal touch to the celebrations.
The couple began their pre-wedding festivities in October, with Sobhita sharing glimpses of a traditional ceremony held at her home. The upcoming wedding is expected to maintain the intimate tone of these earlier events while reflecting the grandeur associated with the couple’s public image.
By securing the wedding rights, Netflix has positioned the ceremony as a cultural spectacle, making it one of the most talked-about celebrity events of the year.
