GATes, ATA and TATA host badminton, ping pong and tennis tournaments

Atlanta, GA, October, 9, 2020: Greater Atlanta Telangana Association(GATeS) and America Telugu Association(ATA) held an all-day Badminton and Ping Pong tournament September 26th and 27th, at Atlanta Recreation Club (ARC).

GATeS and Telangana American Telugu Association (TATA) held a two-day Tennis tournament August 22nd and 23rd, at Sharon Spring Park.

There was an overwhelming response to the tournament in which a total of 30 teams with more than 80 players of Indian and American origin played all-day Badminton and Ping Pong games throughout the day in indoor courts, a press release from organizers said.

There was an overwhelming response to the Tennis tournament in which a total of 15 teams with more than 40 players of Indian and American origin played two day Tennis games throughout the day in outdoor courts, a press release from organizers said.

The competition was organized to bring Tennis, Badminton and Ping Pong enthusiasts from the Indian community under one roof, give players a platform to play some good game and provide the facilities and the time for them to network with each other. Organizers attended to every detail of the tournament, including water and other liquids, fruits for participating teams.

The event was initiated and planned by Prabhakar Madupathi and Kirthidhar Chakella,who identified the venues, recruited the teams, defined rules, and executed the tournament.

The tournament was divided into Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginners,The reason for creating leagues was to give more teams a chance to compete and inspire them to win.

Badminton Womens Doubles Nupur Chhabra and Geethanjali kher(Winners),Kalyani Dindi and Kiruba Praveen(Runner).Mens Singles Praveen Kolipaka(Winner),Ananth Reddy Chilukuri(Runner).Mens Singles Consolation Vadivelan Velayutham(Winner),Virthitha Selvamuthu(Runner1),Ramon Rellum(Runner2).Mens Doubles Beginners Bhanu Prakash Gullapalli and Vikranth Gottipati(Winners,Sahil sankar and Wayne(Runner).Doubles Consolation Beginners Coung and Perie.Mens Doubles Advanced  Prashanna Kannan and Abhilash Puli(Winners),Sarat Govindasamy and Praveen Kolipaka(Runner).Mens Doubles Consolation Advanced Kishore Devarajula and Abhishek Nagraj(Winners),Tim Kim and Huy Nguyen(Runners.

Tennis Singles  Rangaprasad Gunda(Winner) ,Ranjith Sasidharan(Runner).Tennis Doubles  Siva Rama Vegesna  and Ranjith Sasidharan(Winner) ,Rangaprasad Gunda and Krishna Bokka(Runner).

One of the highlights of the tournament was the participation of a young school kids from Elementary school to High school of Indian origin, these kids played excellent Ping Pong, Badminton and everyone has supported them.

 GATeS President Rahull Chikyala thanked Ananth Reddy Chilukuri  for providing the ARC Premises and thanked Sai Rohit Roy  for supporting the Event to make it successful.

“Kudos to our volunteers who took care of monitoring the games, tracking the wins and losses, updating scores, making sure teams and referees for the next matches are available on time and whatnot,” organizers said.

As a result of the success of this Tennis, Badminton, Pin pong Tournaments have set the goal to make next year’s tournament also a grand success and to set the new standard in organizing the Tennis,Badmintorn,Pinpong tournament among the Indian community.
