Former Georgia Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan endorses Kamala Harris, condemns Trump’s Atlanta speech

NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT

Atlanta, GA, August 4, 2024: Former Georgia Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan, a lifelong Republican, has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the upcoming presidential election. Duncan’s endorsement comes in the wake of a scathing critique of former President Donald Trump’s recent speech in Atlanta, which he described as incoherent and filled with personal grievances.

Duncan, who has been increasingly critical of Trump since the 2020 election, stated that the former president’s address was a stark reminder of why he believes Trump is unfit to lead. “Millions of Americans are fed up with his grievance-filled campaign focused only on himself,” Duncan said, emphasizing that Trump’s rhetoric does nothing to unite the country.

The endorsement of Harris marks a dramatic shift for Duncan, who admitted that it was not an easy decision as a conservative Republican. However, he expressed confidence in Harris’s ability to fight for all Americans and uphold the Constitution, regardless of political affiliation. “Elections are binary choices,” Duncan noted, adding that he believes Harris is the right choice to lead the nation forward.

In his statement, Duncan also detailed several troubling aspects of Trump’s speech, including attacks on Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, whom Trump falsely accused of interfering in the 2024 election. Duncan condemned Trump’s use of the racist Great Replacement Theory and his continued promotion of falsehoods about the 2020 election.

As the 2024 election approaches, Duncan’s support for Harris could influence moderate and conservative voters who are looking for alternatives to Trump’s brand of politics.
