Mumbai, India, May 5, 2025: Actor and producer Aamir Khan will return to the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par, a new feature film scheduled for a global theatrical release on June 20, 2025.
Described as a spiritual sequel to Khan’s 2007 film Taare Zameen Par, the upcoming production is directed by R.S. Prasanna, known for the 2017 film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and the biographical film On A Quest, based on the life of Swami Chinmayananda.
Produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, the film features Khan in a lead role alongside Genelia Deshmukh. The cast also includes ten newcomers: Aaroush Datta, Gopi Krishna, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
The screenplay is written by Divy Nidhi Sharma, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and music composed by the trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, with Ravi Bhagchandka also serving as producer.
While specific plot details have not been disclosed, promotional materials describe the film as a story centered on themes of joy, connection, and optimism.
Sitaare Zameen Par will release in cinemas worldwide on June 20, 2025.
