Columbia, SC, December 18, 2025: South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has issued an official proclamation recognising World Meditation Day, to be observed on December 21, highlighting the role of meditation in promoting mental well-being, stress reduction, and social harmony.
The proclamation was coordinated by Anita Juneja, a Certified Art of Living Teacher, in collaboration with the Art of Living Columbia Chapter, working closely with the Governor’s Office. The organisers expressed their appreciation to Governor McMaster for acknowledging the growing importance of meditation in today’s fast-paced world.

The Art of Living team also thanked the U.S. Congressman who extended support for organising a community meditation programme in Columbia to mark the occasion.
To commemorate World Meditation Day, a free meditation event will be held on December 21 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm at 3907 Ensor Ave, Columbia, South Carolina. The event is open to the public and aims to encourage collective meditation for peace and well-being.
The Art of Living Foundation, founded by spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, is a global humanitarian organisation engaged in initiatives related to mental health, stress management, and community wellness across several countries.
