Sant Nirankari Mission Holds Blood Donation Drive

Atlanta, GA: As per the divine words of His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, “Blood should flow in veins, not in drains”. Sant Nirankari Mission Atlanta, USA organized a blood donation drive at the Global Mall on 4th April 2015 in collaboration with Red Cross Blood Center of Atlanta.

On the day of the event, preparations began early morning as volunteers arrived at 7 am. The Sant Nirankari Mission,Atlanta offered free books and audio CDs about the mission. There were free snacks and lunch available to all the attendees and fellow guests. The youth (ages 13 and younger) also participated by passing out publications, singing, and sharing jokes with visitors to the mall to keep the environment lighthearted.

A team of medical doctors, surgeons and nurses was invited to give free medical services to the community. Many people took advantage of the free health checkups. This service is offered at every blood drive that the Sant Nirankari Mission conducts to help the community.

Sixty-two people registered, which 48 were able to donate blood. “That is a great number and one of the highest percentages of donations in all of the blood drives held by the Sant Nirankari Mission,Atlanta,” said a press release issued by the organization.

The American Red Cross team was extremely happy with the response and requested that they be part of planning and organizing future blood drives.
