Rhythms of India Dazzles Atlanta With a Century of Bollywood Magic

Atlanta, GA, May 22, 2026: The stage of Berkmar High School Auditorium came alive on May 2, 2026, as the India American Cultural Association (IACA) presented the 7th Annual Rhythms of India 2026, an enchanting evening that unfolded like a vibrant tapestry of rhythm, grace, nostalgia, and storytelling. Featuring some of Atlanta’s most eminent dance academies, the showcase celebrated the beauty of Indian classical dance while also taking audiences on a dazzling cinematic journey through “100 Years of Indian Cinema.”

From the very first performance, the auditorium resonated with energy, elegance, and artistic brilliance. The evening was thoughtfully curated and seamlessly conducted under the direction of Geetanjali Talukdar, whose vision helped transform the production into far more than a dance recital. It became an immersive cultural experience where tradition met theatrical expression, and where music, movement, and emotion blended effortlessly.

“Rhythms of India is not just a program for us. It is a celebration of culture, community, and the passion these young artists bring to the stage,” said Geetanjali Talukdar. “Every year we strive to create something meaningful that connects generations through dance, music, and storytelling.”

The performances reflected extraordinary dedication from all 84 performers, each bringing finesse, discipline, and heartfelt passion to the stage. Rolling applause echoed throughout the evening as performers showcased not only technical excellence, but also a deep love for the art form.

Laasya School of Performing Arts LLC opened the evening with graceful movements and expressive storytelling that beautifully reflected the depth and elegance of Indian classical dance for, Mohiniyattam. KalashramUSA captivated audiences with a powerful Kathak presentation filled with intricate footwork, fluid spins, and dramatic expressions that brought rhythm alive on stage. Sree Dutt Raga Dance Academy delivered a vibrant and devotional performance rich in color, precision, and energy, while Chilanka enchanted audiences with soulful classical sequences that carried poise, discipline, and spiritual beauty through every movement.

As the evening transitioned into the celebration of “100 Years of Indian Cinema,” the stage transformed into a dazzling journey through Bollywood’s timeless musical legacy. Audiences were swept into nostalgia through performances set to beloved classics including “Hum Aap Ki Aankhon Mein,” “Ichik Dana Bichik Dana,” “Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu,” “Mera Piya Gaye Rangoon,” “Aacha Ji Main Haari,” “Tere Mehfil Mein Qawali,” “Aaj Kal Tere Mere,” “Jai Jai Shiv Shankar,” “In Aankhon Ki Masti,” “Dhoop Chhaon,” and the evergreen dance favorite “Ek Do Teen.”

The cinematic showcase also featured special tributes to legendary artists Asha Bhosle, A.R. Rahman, and Hrithik Roshan, blending iconic melodies with dynamic choreography and theatrical storytelling. Ballis Dance Academy brought youthful exuberance and cinematic flair to the tribute to A.R. Rahman, while Rhythms Dance Academy energized the auditorium with lively Bollywood-inspired performances including “What Jhumka?” and the grand finale “Ishq Jalakar,” leaving the audience cheering enthusiastically.

The smooth flow of the evening, the polished choreography, the expressive storytelling, and the meticulous attention to detail reflected months of dedication behind the scenes. Each performance seamlessly transitioned into the next, creating a cohesive artistic narrative that kept the audience engaged throughout the program.

Guest of Honor Parmesh “Bob” Erramilli, Johns Creek City Councilman,  describing the director as “force in the world of art”, praised the production, remarking, “It was a fine evening. Very hard to forget.”

Organizers expressed heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors and supporters whose generosity helped make the event possible. As the finale concluded and performers took their final bow, the audience rose in appreciation for an evening that celebrated not only dance and theatre, but also the enduring spirit of Indian culture, creativity, and community. Rhythms of India 2026 left behind memories filled with music, emotion, elegance, and pride — a shining reminder of how the performing arts continue to unite, uplift, and inspire.
