Hindus of Georgia Political Action Committee Hosts Fundraiser for Burt Jones Ahead of June 16 Republican Runoff

Atlanta, GA, June 5, 2026: The Hindus of Georgia Political Action Committee (HiPAC) announced the successful completion of a campaign fundraiser in support of Lt. Gov. Burt Jones’s bid for governor, bringing together Hindu-American community leaders, business executives, and professionals from the medical and information technology sectors ahead of Georgia’s June 16 Republican runoff election.

According to HiPAC, the event also served as a celebration of the organization’s formal endorsement of Jones and highlighted what organizers described as the growing political influence and civic engagement of Georgia’s Hindu-American community.

“We are thrilled by the overwhelming turnout and the immense generosity shown by our community at this event,” said Rajeev Menon, HiPAC co-founder and board member, in a statement. Menon said the community’s values of hard work, family unity, economic freedom, and safe neighborhoods align with Jones’ leadership and that the fundraiser demonstrated support for his runoff campaign.

Dhiru Shah, another HiPAC co-founder and board member, said the event reflected the Hindu-American community’s commitment to Georgia’s future. Shah cited entrepreneurship, public safety, education, and fiscal responsibility as priorities shared by many in the community and said Jones’ platform reflects those concerns.

During the event, Jones thanked attendees and acknowledged the contributions of Hindu Americans to Georgia’s economy. He noted that although Hindu Americans make up a relatively small percentage of the state’s population, they play significant roles in industries including healthcare, hospitality, technology, and retail.

“I am incredibly grateful to the Hindus of Georgia PAC and every individual who contributed to making this event such a massive success,” Jones said. He credited Hindu Americans with helping drive job creation, business development, and community growth across the state.

HiPAC said proceeds from the fundraiser will support the Burt Jones for Governor campaign’s grassroots organizing, voter outreach, and media efforts during the final weeks leading up to the June 16 runoff.

The winner of the Republican primary runoff will advance to face Keisha Lance Bottoms in the November general election.

HiPAC describes itself as an independent, nonpartisan political action committee focused on supporting candidates at the local, state, and federal levels who are committed to religious freedom, civil rights, human rights, and issues affecting Hindu Americans. The organization says its priorities include addressing Hinduphobia, improving the portrayal of Hinduism in school textbooks, combating hate crimes against Hindu places of worship, addressing bullying of Hindu students, and advocating for policies affecting the broader Hindu-American community.
