Indian Americans Share Spotlight with Musk, Sam Altman on TIME100 AI 2025 List

Several Indian Americans have earned a place on TIME Magazine’s 2025 TIME100 AI list, which recognizes the world’s most influential voices shaping the future of artificial intelligence. The annual list, featuring global leaders like Elon Musk and Sam Altman, honored Indian-origin innovators for their groundbreaking work across governance, enterprise, climate technology, and AI safety.

Among them is Ravi Kumar S., the U.S.-based CEO of Cognizant. Kumar, who oversees one of the world’s largest IT and consulting firms from New Jersey, was recognized for driving large-scale AI adoption and positioning Cognizant as a leader in enterprise AI transformation.

Maithra Raghu, co-founder and CEO of Samaya AI, was lauded for her contributions to financial intelligence through AI. Raghu’s company develops systems that harness artificial intelligence to generate insights for global markets, strengthening decision-making in high-stakes industries.

Navrina Singh, founder of Credo AI, made the list for her pioneering work in AI governance. Her U.S.-based company provides oversight tools to mitigate bias, improve security, and ensure ethical deployment of generative AI.

Another honoree, Priya Donti, an assistant professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), is leading research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and renewable energy. Donti’s work integrates AI into power grid optimization, aiming to advance the fight against climate change.

Kakul Srivastava, co-founder of Anthropic, was recognized for her leadership in advancing AI safety. Anthropic, one of the most closely watched AI startups in Silicon Valley, is dedicated to building aligned and transparent AI systems.

The recognition of these Indian Americans highlights not only their personal achievements but also the growing role of the Indian diaspora in shaping global technology.
