BY JYOTHSNA HEGDE

Atlanta, GA, November 8, 2019: “The credit for getting us to Atlanta goes entirely to Consul General Dr. Kulkarni. In the past we have always looked into Silicon Valley,” stated Nalin Kohli, Chairman, INDIASOFT, who was in Atlanta on October 17, 2019 at a dinner hosted by CG Dr. Swati Kulkarni, at the India House. Kohli was speaking in reference to Georgia being identified as one of unexplored markets, which will now be part of the upcoming GLOBALSOFT 2020, to be held in Hyderabad on March 3-4, 2020.

GLOBALSOFT 2020 is part of 20th edition of INDIASOFT, a two-day flagship IT event of Electronics and Computer Software Promotion Council, sponsored by the Government of India. The event facilitates home-grown ICT companies showcasing their ICT products and services to foreign buyers, forge meaningful business ventures to enhance India’s ICT exports globally particularly in the new and emerging markets. GLOBALSOFT is collocated with INDIASOFT for International exhibitors.

INDIASOFT 2020 will showcase India’s capabilities in areas such as automation, Internet of Things and robotics. Approximately 250 Indian IT firms are expected to participate in the show, with 500 ICT buyers from 60 countries.

The second edition of GLOBALSOFT 2020 will feature over 50 foreign IT companies that will display products and solutions to buyers from India and global markets.  While delegates from the US, Britain, Japan and Germany are expected, the Indian SMEs and start-ups will be major target audiences.

“The larger IT companies such as Infosys, Mahendra Tech, Wipro, have already established partnerships in the US, so we are focusing on Tier 2 and Tier 3 companies,” said Kohli. He went on to elaborate that the twenty-three-hundred-member companies, part of the council, had started exploring other parts of the USA since he took over as Chairman.

Set up in 2000, INDIASOFT was meant to showcase Indian companies, the Tier 2 and Tier 3 companies in particular, to emerging markets. “Two years ago, we received requests for International exhibits and GLOBALSOFT provided a platform for foreign companies to exhibit their products to the Indian and other emerging markets. The advantage for US companies is the opportunity to choose obtaining partnership from 250 companies and they can decide based on mutual interest, who they can partner with and also have 400 buyers from more than 60 countries,” said Kohli.

“This is just the beginning. We look forward to companies from this part of the US to participate in the show,” said Kohli. At least 10 companies from Georgia are expected to participate in the show in 2020.
