CDC issues Level 4 COVID warning for India, advises avoiding all travel

Atlanta, GA, April 21, 2021: The Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 4 Travel Health Notice for India due to COVID-19, indicating a very high level of COVID-19 in the country.

Travelers should avoid all travel to India.

“Because of the current situation in  India even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants and should avoid all travel to India,” the advisory says.

“If you must travel to India, get fully vaccinated before travel. All travelers should wear a mask, stay 6 feet from others, avoid crowds, and wash their hands.”
