Event Description:
Deeksha School of Performing Arts presents AAKRITI – an evening of classical Indian dance – a charity concert in support of Baal Dan charities – on June 14, 2014, 4:30 PM at Joe Mack Wilson Auditorium, Southern Polytechnic State University. Conceived, Choreographed and Directed by Anupa Guha Thakurta, Aakriti is our humble tribute to the dance form of Bharatnatyam. From the traditional to the contemporary – Aakriti alludes to creations from the soul and hope to reach out to yours as well. It is an excellent primer for those unfamiliar with Indian classical dance. The program also juxtaposes classical Indian dance styles like Kathak, Odissi and Mohiniyattam. Come join us as we relive the beauty and grace of Indian classical dance. And remind ourselves, how fascinating, pulsating and enthralling it can be. And support a worthy cause while at it.
