Tanishq Shines at NYFW Fall 2026 with Bibhu Mohapatra Collaboration

NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT

New York, NY, February 24, 2026: Tanishq returned to New York Fashion Week for Fall 2026 in continued collaboration with Indian American designer Bibhu Mohapatra, marking the third time the two global brands have come together on the prestigious runway.

Against the high-voltage backdrop of the Fall 2026 shows at New York Fashion Week, Tanishq’s bold jewelry pieces emerged as defining elements of the collection. Oversized necklaces, sculptural gold arm cuffs, heirloom-scale diamonds, and dramatic earrings shimmered under the runway lights — not as finishing touches, but as integral components of the design narrative.

“This collaboration strengthens Tanishq’s focus on positioning jewelry as a core design element within global fashion,” said Amrit Pal Singh, Business Head, Tanishq USA. “For Fall 2026, we curated pieces from across our design heritage to integrate directly with Bibhu Mohapatra’s silhouettes, demonstrating how craftsmanship and contemporary couture can function as one cohesive medium.”

Each piece was selected in response to garment engineering, allowing jewelry to influence posture, movement, and rhythm on the runway. The effect was intentional: jewelry shaped the storytelling as much as fabric and form.

Mohapatra’s Fall 2026 collection drew inspiration from the Brahmavadini — women seers and philosophers of ancient India — a theme that naturally aligned with Tanishq’s heritage-driven aesthetic.

“I continue to collaborate with Tanishq because our partnership is rooted in celebrating India’s artistic legacy and bringing it to the world,” Mohapatra said. “This collaboration distinctly presents a vision of luxury that is rooted in heritage but is also extremely forward-facing.”

For Tanishq, a jewelry powerhouse from the Tata Group with more than 400 stores globally, the New York Fashion Week showcase signals more than design synergy. It underscores the brand’s expanding U.S. footprint, which now includes 10 stores in cities such as New Jersey, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Seattle, Atlanta, Santa Clara, Virginia, Orlando, and Boston.
