Trainee pilot from Andhra dies after Cessna crashes

Hyderabad, Nov 19 (IANS) A trainee pilot from India has died in a plane crash at Hooks Aiport in the US.

Chamakura Karthik, from Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh, was killed when single-engine Cessna burst into flames after a crash at Hooks Airport in Harris County, Texas, Sunday evening.

According to the airport officials, the Cesna 172 crashed into a hangar as the pilot was attempting to return to the runway after some engine problem. Karthik’s trainer also died in the accident.

According to Karthik’s family members, he had gone to the US in September for pilot training.

Son of a BSNL official, Karthik completed his studies in Hyderabad. He also underwent training at the Andhra Pradesh Aviation Academy here.
