NRI PULSE STAFF REPORT
Seattle, WA, July 27, 2025: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has detained a 25-year-old Indian citizen with a lengthy criminal history in Washington state and placed him in removal proceedings.
ICE identified the man as Manjot Singh, who has been arrested several times by local law enforcement over the past few years. His alleged offenses include robbery, theft, criminal impersonation, assault, and driving under the influence (DUI).
According to ICE, Singh was arrested earlier this month in the Seattle area through a joint operation involving multiple federal agencies, including ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Seattle, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Seattle, and U.S. Border Patrol’s Blaine Sector. He was initially booked into Whatcom County Jail before being transferred to federal custody.
“Manjot Singh remains in ICE custody awaiting removal,” the agency said in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter).
ICE has not released details on when Singh entered the United States or the specifics of his immigration status, but officials said he was living in the country unlawfully.
