Hate for Views: Racist Tirade Targeting Indian Community at City Council

BY VEENA RAO

Frisco, TX, March 23, 2026: A public comment at the Frisco City Council meeting on March 17 has drawn widespread condemnation after a speaker delivered a racially charged and offensive monologue targeting the Indian American community.

The speaker, identified as Clayton Walker, who also goes by Clayton York, approached the podium and falsely introduced himself as “Sanjay Gupta,” claiming to be “transracial Indian.” What followed was a string of remarks delivered in a caricatured Indian accent, including statements about public defecation and derogatory references to Indian culture. He also made comments referencing H-1B visas and Indian public figures in a mocking tone.

The remarks, widely described as racist and demeaning, were met with visible discomfort in the room. At least one attendee reportedly called out the speaker’s behavior during the meeting.

The incident quickly spread online after Walker posted the video on X, where it garnered over 1.5 million views. The post itself used language mimicking stereotypes of Indian speech, further amplifying concerns about intentional provocation for viral attention.

Local political groups also responded. The Collin County Texas Democrats issued a “Be On the Lookout” (BOLO) alert on social media, noting that the same individual had allegedly made similar statements at a Plano meeting earlier, again targeting the South Asian community.

Community members and observers expressed frustration that public forums meant for civic participation are increasingly being used for disruptive and inflammatory performances designed for online engagement. Some called for stronger enforcement of decorum rules, suggesting that the speaker should have been removed or his microphone cut off.

“Just thinking about how this lowlife spent money on an Indian flag, practiced this speech in an Indian accent and drove all the way here, and waited 2-3 hours to give this speech is the real joke here,” one Reddit user said.

Others pointed to a broader trend of individuals seeking viral attention through controversial or offensive content. The speaker has been linked in online discussions to social media personality Alex Stein, who is known for provocative public stunts, though no official confirmation of any direct affiliation has been made.

The episode comes amid heightened sensitivity around immigration debates and rising concerns about anti-immigrant and anti-Indian rhetoric in parts of the country. For many in the Indian American community, the incident was not just offensive, but reflective of a deeper pattern of stereotyping and harassment.
